A Belarusian Jewish leader says vandals painted swastikas and graffiti on a Holocaust memorial site to mark the anniversary of Adolf Hitler’s birth.

Friedrich Falevich says the site in the town of Slutsk, south of the capital, Minsk, is being cleaned.

Slutsk city authorities aren’t saying anything about Sunday’s vandalism. But city services are helping to clean the monument.

The April 20 anniversary of Hitler’s birth often sees a spike in anti-Semitic attacks by right wing groups across Europe.
