Leadel.NET –
A Jewish Media Hub LEADING
JEWISH INSPIRATION
Launched in September of 2008, Leadel.NET
is a media hub showcasing the rich variety of contemporary Jewish
voices and expressions. Focusing on the ever-changing state of Jewish
identity and activity in the 21st century, Leadel uses digital
media to increase Jewish leadership and connect generations, especially
among our youth, by reflecting upon and inspiring innovation and
creativity. With less than two years of air time, Leadel receives
between 1200-1500 unique visits per day, has over 500 official site
members, and a large presence and following on both Facebook and
Twitter.
Founded
by the President of the European Jewish Congress, Moshe Kantor,
the concept behind Leadel was to provide a new-age, Web 2.0 based
media portal to young Jewish professionals from around the world
to connect generations, interact with each other and be inspired
by their fellow Jews. Leadership elements will also blossoming from
this approach as new networks are constantly being built. Nevertheless,
what began as merely a journalistic approach with one-on-one interviews
with prominent Jews such as Natan
Sharansky, Alan
Dershowitz, and Bernard
Henri Levy, led to an explosion of ideas, educational video
series' and initiatives all launched under Leadel's brand and guidance.
While Leadel’s main content resides in its vast video library
of interviews and short documentaries, Leadel also has a number
of elements to enrich their ever-growing catalog of Jewish identity
pieces:
Leadel
LIVE (aka Shevet Achim) operates in cooperation with the
offices of Israeli Minister of Diaspora Affairs, Yuli Edelstein,
and provides an alternative, accessible means of communication between
Jewish Diaspora communities and leading Israeli government officials.
Each event uses cutting edge technology to build new bridges across
geographical borders. This effort has great impacts on connecting
generations and inspires future political leaders by providing future
generations an inside look to current mentors and the people making
policy decisions. Past sessions have included communities from London,
Britain; Budapest, Hungary; Stockholm, Sweden; and Milan, Italy
as well as hosted Israel's Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Strategic
Affairs, Moshe "Boogie" Ya'alon.

Leadel Link aspires to
use Leadel.NET as a portal
to create a living, breathing network between its members and
the media it hosts. The norm is such that many sites make use
of an audience linked to a particular article or story via comments,
thus providing that audience access to connect with each other.
Leadel Link hopes to make
a synapse relationship available between our audiences, young
and old generations, leaders, etc, and bring them together with
the individuals we feature on Leadel. Hence granting a higher
level of communication and networking to the global Jewish community
and strengthening leadership and the ties among Jewish youth and
established Jewish professionals.
All-in-all, Leadel.NET
continues to aspire to inspire, strengthen Jewish identity and
spark innovation within Jewish youth around the world by taking
digital media and Judaism to a higher level of networking and
communication.
