Toulouse Jewish school commemorates terror attack

The Ohr HaTorah school in Toulouse, where Mohamed Merah shot the young teacher, Jonathan Sandler, his two young children, Gabriel, 4, and Arié, 5, and their seven year-old cousin, Myriam Monsonego, held a ceremony to mark five years since the attack on Sunday.

This was the first time the school, originally called Ozar HaTorah but since renamed, had been opened to the public. Yaacov Monsonego.

Yaacov Monsonego, the school’s director and father of Myriam, government minister Bruno Le Roux and CRIF President Francis Kalifat were among those attending the commemoration.

A French nurse who hid Jews in an abbey in northern France during the Nazi occupation has been posthumously honoured with the award of Righteous of the Nations by Yad Vashem.
