EJC Executive meets with PM Netanyahu in Jerusalem

The Executive Committee of the European Jewish Congress met with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on April 24 in Jerusalem.

Discussions centred on the recent agreement between the Palestinian Authority and the Gaza-based terror group, Hamas, and its impact on the peace process, the continuing threat from the development of nuclear weapons capacity by Iran and on relations between Israel and the European Union.

EJC President Dr. Moshe Kantor strongly backed the decision of the Israeli government to suspend peace talks, reiterating the impossibility of negotiating with an authority allied with a terror group committed to the destruction of the State of Israel and which continues to blast rockets into Israeli population centres.

He thanked the Prime Minister for Israel’s continued commitment to fight anti-Semitism and to protect Jewish communities around the world.

The meeting was held in a very constructive and friendly atmosphere.
